Over 70 percent active internet users

According to statistical surveys from 2018, more than 3 out of 4 Poles use the Internet in any way, with 74.8 percent. Users log in to the network at least once a week . In 2018, 82.7 percent. households had a computer. At the same time, almost all companies in Poland declare that they use Internet access. Faithful to internet providers

The vast majority of Poles do not want to change Internet providers . This is indicated by the results of the quantitative survey report of December 2018 conducted by the Office of Electronic Communications. This is a report entitled "The role of the Internet in personal and professional life, before and after changing the access medium and subscribed bandwidth, with particular focus on fiber-optic networks built under the Operational Program Digital Poland." UKE has shown that Poles have been using fixed internet for 45 years. respondents use this kind of internet at home for over 9 years. In the case of people who use fiber-optic Internet, this time is shorter – 50 percent. the respondents have not used it for more than 6 years. At the same time, for many people optical fiber has become the first type of fixed-line Internet access that they have ever had in their household. In line with the fiber optic Internet service, respondents in the UKE study indicated that they use the same operators also from other available services , such as:

  • television – 43 percent indications,
  • telephone – 40 percent indications,
  • mobile services – 15 percent indications.

Bills paid for the Internet and any additional services are 47%. cases from PLN 51 to PLN 100, and in 22%. cases are over PLN 101. We use the Internet most often on mobile devices:

  • laptops – 83 percent answers,
  • mobile phones – 79 percent,
  • tablets – 38 percent

A desktop computer is used by almost half of the respondents – 48 percent, Smart TV – 33 percent, and a gaming console – 15 percent.

Optical fiber changes the perception of the Internet

UKE emphasizes that over two thirds of respondents use fiber optic internet for less than 4 years . This is mainly due to the fact that in recent years we have been observing a gradual spread of fiber optic network. Among the people who use fiber today, some of them used the landline before. For 82 percent. out of them before the optical fiber, mobile internet was the way to connect to the network, and for 18 percent. Optical fiber is the first type of network access. According to the majority of respondents, changing the Internet to fiber optic either makes it easier or at all possible to take various online activities. Respondents appreciate that it's easier to watch movies online and to chat over video communicators on the web. Almost 2/3 of respondents declared that fiber-optic Internet helps them in everyday life.

User satisfaction of fiber optics
